At the end of a tumultuous week on markets across Asia senior industry moves may have gone unnoticed. Here is a brief round up of some of the new appointments.

Aberdeen Asset Management has recruited Alexis Ng into the role of Asia distribution head. Ng previously worked at First State Investments and Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Alexis Ng replaces Corinne Cheok, Aberdeen’s previous head of distribution for Asia. Ng will be based in Singapore.

France’s BNP Paribas has continued with its recent hiring activity by appointing a head of advisory for the Southeast Asian wealth unit. BNP Paribas has appointed Sharon Loh as head of advisory, Southeast Asia. Loh previously worked at UBS Wealth Management.

As part of the ongoing reorganization of Friends Provident International, which was recently acquired by UK insurer Aviva, James Tan has left his role as Asia head. Aviva has appointed Margaret Chiu as acting CEO for Hong Kong.

Spanish bank Santander has recruited two former RBS bankers Simon Lim and Gordon Chan. Based in Hong Kong it is believed they will be covering syndicated loans and debt capital markets.
