Lykke, a Swiss Fintech company building a global blockchain-powered marketplace, is accelerating its growth with the announcement of a new director to its Singapore office.

Zug based fintech firm Lykke is building a global marketplace for the free exchange of financial assets, using blockchain technology pioneered by Bitcoin.

With the addition of a Singapore office to its network which includes the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Cyprus, Vanuatu, and the U.S., Lykke is expanding its global footprint.

The company has appointed Seamus Donoghue to head up its Singapore push. Donoghue was most recently the Singapore based Chief Executive of Allocate Bullion Solutions, an open architecture platform for wholesale precious metals trading network automation.

He has also held positions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, and JP Morgan, the company said on its website.

Reimagining Financial Markets

«This was just a clear meeting of the minds, we got along fabulously, and there is so much we can do from Singapore. It’s a real privilege to work with such enthusiastic and capable people all around the globe,» says Richard Olsen, previously founder and CEO of OANDA and now CEO of Lykke.

In addition to bitcoin and the major currency pairs, Lykke now lists its own equity tokens plus Solarcoin, the TREE mangrove coin, and Chronobank’s TIME token.
