Eastspring Investments the Asian investment arm of Prudential and the region’s largest retail manager has appointed an asset management industry veteran to the role of Chief Investment Officer.

Virginie Maisonneuve has been appointed Chief Investment Officer (CIO), she will take up her new role on 11 January 2017.

Maisonneuve has almost 30 years of global asset management experience and most recently was Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer of Equities at PIMCO. Prior to this, she was the Head of Global Equities, Director and Portfolio Manager for more than 10 years at Schroders.

Chinese Understanding

While managing funds directly, Virginie Maisonneuve was a top rated fund manager and was also one of the first investors to launch a China equity fund in the US.

Reporting to Chief Executive Guy Strapp, Maisonneuve will be responsible for managing all investments at the firm, including the firm’s equity, fixed income, asset allocation, private equity, infrastructure and onshore investment offerings.

Maisonneuve holds a Bachelor ‘s degree in Political Economics from from the People’s University, Beijing and a Master’s degree in Mandarin Chinese from Dauphine University in Paris.
