Offshore law firm Carey Olsen has expanded its corporate practice in Asia, with a second partner joining the Singapore team after relocating from the firm’s Cayman office.

Anthony McKenzie has joined the Singapore team of Carey Olsen after relocating from the firm’s Cayman office, expanding its corporate coverage. 

McKenzie's areas of expertise include regulated and unregulated investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and listings, joint ventures, secured and unsecured finance arrangements, preference share issues and capital markets transactions.

He was admitted to practice in the Cayman Islands in 2007 and in the British Virgin Islands in 2014 and has been a partner with Carey Olsen since 2012. Prior to joining Carey Olsen he worked with Allen & Overy in London and Australia and with Maples and Calder in Cayman.

Increasing Demand from Asia

Singapore managing partner, Linda Lee, said: «Since our launch in Singapore last October we are seeing increasing demand for our expertise from clients, intermediaries and international law firms in Asia.»

The firm opened for business in Singapore in October 2015 and currently has a team of five. Carey Olsen in Singapore has a focus on corporate and commercial transactions including capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, banking & finance and investment funds.

Carey Olsen has 49 partners and 200 lawyers across the group and has one of the largest corporate legal teams in the offshore world.
