Robeco Institutional Asset Management has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board of Robeco as of 19 September 2016.

Gilbert Van Hassel (pictured above) has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, mainly in asset and wealth management, with broad experience in Europe, Asia and the U.S., according to a press release sent on Friday.

Until 2013 he was Global CEO ING Investment Management and Member of the Board Insurance and Asset Management of ING. Before joining ING in 2007 he made his career at J.P. Morgan in various executive roles in Europe, Asia and the U.S.

Exciting Market

Van Hassel will succeed Leni Boeren, who, as earlier announced, will leave the company after the hand-over has been completed and successors have been appointed for her other Board positions within Robeco Group.

Gilbert van Hassel said: «We operate in an exciting market which will continue to be full of opportunities for Robeco and I am looking forward to leading Robeco’s further growth.»
