A former finance lawyer and Order of Australia recipient has been appointed as a Director of the ME Bank board.

Cheryl Bart who began her career at law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques in the banking and finance practice, as been appointed as a Director of Australian Members Equity Bank (ME), according to a press release sent on Thursday.

She has accumulated extensive experience across a number of industries through her various board appointments. These include ANZ Trustees, the South Australian Film Corporation and the Australian Broadcast Corporation.

Adventurous Leader

Bart is also known for reaching the summit of Mount Everest in 2008. «She is an outstanding leader and her breadth and depth of experience will assist the growth of the bank in future years,» Ken Hodgson, Chairman of ME Bank, said.

Members Equity Bank is a national bank based in Melbourne, Australia. Bart's appointment was ratified during ME Bank’s board meeting which was held in Melbourne in June.
