Credit Suisse identified Thailand as an underserved wealth market and put in place a team to grow its assets there. Now the bank has made a move on-boarding a respected Thai wealth veteran.

In a note to finews.asia the bank announced that Khun Thippa Praneeprachachon has joined Credit Suisse as an Executive Director and Expert Relationship Manager (ERM) in the recently launched Thailand wealth management business, under Credit Suisse Securities (Thailand), with immediate effect.

She is based in Bangkok and reports to Christian Senn, Market Group Head Thailand.

Substantial Thai Wealth Knowledge

Khun Thippa possesses more than 30 years’ wealth management experience covering the Thai market, both onshore and offshore.

She joins Credit Suisse from EFG Bank Singapore, where she was the Senior Client Relationship Officer for more than 10 years, in charge of a team of relationship managers and a portfolio of clients. In this role, she was also responsible for setting up the bank’s onshore investment advisory operations in Thailand.

A Key Market

Prior to EFG, Khun Thippa was the Head of Private Wealth Management at Deutsche Bank’s Bangkok Branch. She also worked at Citi Private Bank for 16 years in Singapore, Bangkok and New York, in senior roles in private banking, as well as in treasury and investment advisory.

finews.asia recently met with Christian Senn and Benjamin Cavalli to discuss the importance of the relatively underserved market. Despite its political bagage, Thailand is a growing economy with total wealth comparable to nearby Malaysia or Singapore and a host of potential clients largely in cash.

Credit Suisse now have an established initial team of six relationship managers in Thailand.
