As finews.asia recently revealed, Dagmar Maria Kamber Borens left Swiss bank UBS as its Chief Financial Officer in Asia. Her new role is now known.

Dagmar Maria Kamber Borens will assume the function of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Swiss universal bank at Credit Suisse in Zurich, according to a press release sent on Tuesday. Until that time, the present Chief Financial Officer Antoine Boublil will continue to be in interim charge of the duties of the COO.

After the launch of Credit Suisse (Switzerland) in the fourth quarter of 2016, Kamber's role will expand the scope of the COO to reduce the number of direct reports to the respective CEO Thomas Gottstein, Credit Suisse said.

Overall Responsibility

As a result of the move Dagmar Kamber will also assume the overall responsibility for IT, headed by Mario Crameri, Operations, headed by Marcel Schuler and Communications & Marketing headed by Béatrice Fischer.

From October 1, 2016 Crameri, Schuler and Fischer will report directly to Kamber, but continue to serve as directors in the Extended Management Committee.

Waiting for External Approvals

Upon receipt of the necessary internal and external approvals, the management of Credit Suisse (Switzerland), including the members of the Executive Board and the make up of the Extended Management Committee of the Swiss division Swiss universal bank will be announced. 

Dagmar Kamber will additionally repot to the global COO, Pierre-Olivier Bouée, and to Peter Goerke, Human resources, Communication and Branding.

Involved in an Advisory Role

Kamber began her professional career in 1999 with UBS where she most recently held the position of Group Managing Director. Since 2012 she worked in Singapore as Group CFO of UBS Asia-Pacific, responsible for 13 countries in the APAC region.

Prior to that she served as a Chief of Staff of the Group CFO in Zurich, where she was involved in an advisory role for defining the strategic agenda for restructuring Finance.

Extensiv Experience

Her previous professional experience also includes her work as a consultant of the Chairman and the Board of UBS in legal, regulatory and corporate governance issues as well as in the Group Mergers & Acquisitions in London and Zurich. She is a lawyer and graduated with a PhD in law from the University of Basel.
