There are only seven more weeks to go until the year closes out, here is a synopsis of some senior moves across the region that took place this week.

Aberdeen Asset Management made senior hires expanding its Islamic funds business in Malaysia and its institutional business Taiwan. Daniel Choong joined as head of distribution for Islamic funds in Malaysia and Darrel Chang was appointed the firm's first head of institutional sales in Taiwan.

In Singapore LGT also made twin hires recruiting ex HSBC Private Banker banker Lydia Lum and former BNP Paribas banker Gregor Hochet.

Also in the lion city NRI banker Anuraag Gupta departed from Credit Agricole Suisse.

Calvin Yeap has left DBS for Leonteq taking on the role of head of business innovation. While with DBS, Yeap led the structured products business and worked closely with Leonteq, Avaloq and Numerix.

Standard Chartered’s Singapore-based managing director and head of capital solutions Pramod Shenoi left Standard Chartered over the past few weeks. He was reporting directly to Henrik Raber, the bank's global head of capital markets.

Manulife made two additions to its leadership team in Singapore. Neil Bowyer as chief bancassurance officer, and Arijit Chakraborty as chief legal and compliance officer. For Neil Bowyer it is a newly-created role, he will be responsible for the overall development of the company’s bancassurance operations in Singapore. Chakraborty will oversee the company’s legal, compliance and quality assurance functions.

Alister Moss has joined Nomura a managing director in debt syndicate for Asia ex-Japan. Moss, who spent more than 15 years at Credit Suisse before leaving in 2012, will take up the job next month.

Societe Generale's corporate & investment banking unit appointed Patrick Perreault as global head of diversified industries within its corporate finance department. Prior to the move Perreault was with Goldman Sachs where he was a managing director within the industrial group of the investment banking division.

NAB Asset Management has appointed a new chief executive of its investment consultancy business JANA. Jim Lamborn has been named as JANA’s new chief executive, replacing Ian Patrick who will join Sunsuper as the fund's chief investment officer.

Rabobank Australia and New Zealand has appointed a deputy managing director and new deputy chief executive of Rabobank Australia. Peter Knoblanche has been named as the deputy managing director of Rabobank Australia and New Zealand and the deputy chief executive of Rabobank Australia. Mr Knoblanche will also continue in his current role as group executive of country banking in Australia.
