Global consultancy group Mercer has announced two appointments to its Pacific leadership team. Guy Thorburn, formerly Retirement Business Leader, has been appointed Product and Innovation Leader, directing a team that spans all lines of business talent, investments, retirement and financial services, and brings together innovation, product development and product management capabilities from across the firm. Graeme Mather, who currently leads the investments consulting team within Mercer’s investments business, retains this role and succeeds Thorburn as Retirement Business Leader, improving collaboration between the retirement and investment businesses.

HSBC Global Asset Management has named Puneet Chaddha as chief executive officer of Singapore. Chaddha will now hold two positions he will be the CEO of HSBC Global Asset Management (Singapore), and also the head of Southeast Asia. His appointment takes effect from November 1. Based in Singapore he will report to Pedro Bastos, CEO of Apac for HSBC Global Asset Management, and to Matthew Colebrook, the bank’s head of retail banking and wealth management in the city-state.

Julius Baer has re-hired Cheryl Tan for its fund advisory team in Singapore. She first joined Julius Baer in December 2013, following the bank’s integration of Merrill Lynch International Wealth Management.

M&G Investments has appointed two staff to strengthen its intermediary team in Asia Pacific. Anthony Yeung will be based in Hong Kong as an associate director, while Sophia Shi will be based in Singapore as a relationship manager. They will both report to Ben Cherrington, director of intermediary channels, APAC.

Dutch asset manager Robeco has accepted the resignation of its Asia-Pacific chief executive, Tony Edwards, who is understood to have relocated to his native UK from Hong Kong for family reasons.

Chong Leong, a vice chairman of Morgan Stanley's Asia Pacific investment banking division, has left the firm to join China’s S.F. Express.

Kirkland & Ellis has appointed restructuring specialist Kelley Naphtali as partner in its Hong Kong office. Dual-qualified in Australia and Hong Kong, Naphtali was previously a partner at Lipman Karas, a boutique firm specialising in insolvency and litigation, and Hogan Lovells.

Philip Seah has been named as the new chief executive officer for prudential in Singapore. Seah is formerly the CEO of Prudential Malaysia. He has been with Prudential for more than 35 years.

Lonsec Research has appointed a new chief executive to replace David Erdonmez, who departed the firm in June. Matt Olsen, has been named as Lonsec Research’s new chief executive officer. Olsen will be responsible for managing the research team and overseeing the implementation of the firm’s investment research process for financial advisers.

Henderson Global Investors has appointed a new senior portfolio manager of global natural resources, Darko Kuzmanovic will join Henderson Global Investors as a senior portfolio manager of global natural resources on 1 December 2015.

AMP Capital has appointed Kristen Le Mesurier, who joins AMP Capital from APP Securities, Le Mesurier has been named as a senior ESG investment analyst.
