Following on from our last professional moves report on Wednesday here is a run through and round up of noteworthy hires across the APAC region for the end of the week.

Aviva Investors has appointed Lian Yang to head its Taiwan operations. Yang previously worked as head of institutional sales at Deutsche Far Eastern Asset Management and as general manager for Robeco Asset Management.

PineBridge Investments has appointed Alfred Lee to serve as vice president for institutional business development. Lee will be responsible for strengthening and developing the firm’s relationships with institutional clients in Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines.

HSBC has moved the head of its fund management business Sridhar Chandrasekharan to Hong Kong from London as it seeks to drive the build-up of its Asian operations.

JPMorgan Asset Management (Japan) Limited has announced the appointment of Shoichi Ohkoshi as its new president with effect from September 1. Ohkoshi joins the asset management business from JPMorgan Securities Japan Co., Limited where, he held dual leadership roles as the Head of Fixed Income / Equities Sales & Marketing at JPMorgan Securities Japan Co., Ltd. and Head of Fixed Income Sales & Marketing at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Tokyo Branch.

Mainland-backed boutique bank Reorient Group which is now majority-owned by a holding company controlled by Alibaba founder Jack Ma has hired former State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) Asia head Ting Li as co-CEO.

Australian bank Westpac has appointed Michael Kang to a new role in Hong Kong as it continues to build out a larger debt capital markets team across Asia.

CBRE Group have made senior hires affecting their Asia Pacific operations Daniel Queenan will assume new leadership responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer, CBRE Global Investors, the company’s investment management subsidiary. Mr. Queenan has relocated back to the U.S. after serving as Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific (APAC), for the past two years.

Steven Swerdlow will assume new responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific region. Mr. Swerdlow will oversee all operations in APAC, and will report to Robert Blain, Executive Chairman, APAC, who will retain overall responsibility for the region. Mr. Swerdlow will also play a key role on the Asia Pacific Strategic Group.

Australian wealth management firm Shaw and Partners, formerly Shaw Stockbroking, has expanded its new financial advice team with five new appointments. The firm has appointed ex Macquarie executive director Malcolm Cameron, who will join as Victorian state manager in September.

Shaw's team is also bolstered by Nelson Mariz, Matt Wilkinson and Marlon Mindel. Mariz and Mindel will join Shaw's Victorian offices and Wilkinson will be based in Sydney. Also in Sydney the firm has appointed the former UBS director and adviser Simon Forbes.

AMP has appointed Sally Bruce a former NAB executive as managing director of AMP Bank, Bruce will be responsible for all areas of AMP Bank.
