Gabriel Chan, J.P. Morgan’s head of Greater China has departed the US banks wealth management division.

According to news out of Hong Kong, Bank of Montreal has moved quickly to fill the gap left by Robert Cormie. Monique Chan the former head of Asia for Banque Privee Edmond de Rothschild has been lined up to become the new head of BMO Private Bank.

Chen Hsiou-Ling has left Citi’s private banking arm as its head of Taiwan.

UBS have announced a couple of senior appointments, Markus Egloff will be the new head for wealth management distribution Asia Pacific and wholesale Hong Kong and Singapore for UBS Global Asset Management and Alice Page will be the new chief of staff for Wealth Management Hong Kong and head of the Hong Kong HNW Competence Centre.

Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ has hired Yong Lee Boon to run transaction banking in the region. Boon, based in Hong Kong, will be responsible for growing the Japanese bank’s Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and South Korea businesses, focusing on cash management, trade finance and markets.

In Singapore Baker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow has hired financing specialist Prashanth Venkatesh as a local principal. Prior to the move Venkatesh was a partner at the legacy Amarchand Mangaldas’ Bengaluru office. Between 2007 and 2011 he worked with Linklaters in London, advising on banking, derivatives and structured products in the European market.
