Katsunori Sago, a former deputy president of Goldman Sachs Japan is set to be named as head of asset management at Japan Post Holdings. Observers believe the significant hire signifies a move that could accelerate a Japan Post shift into foreign equities and bonds.

Zurich Financial Services Australia has appointed Kevin Canning as national strategic account manager. Canning and head the firm's retail life risk strategic accounts team.

Lyxor Asset Management has appointed Andrew Au as managing director and head of Asia ex-Japan. Au’s role will be focused on Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, where he will be responsible for the development of the company’s platform and products.

Finally in Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, has been reappointed as chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Board of Directors.
