Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a leading global asset management group, have launched three Asian equity funds in Hong Kong:

Threadneedle (Lux) Developed Asia Growth and Income Fund, Threadneedle (Lux) Asia Contrarian Equity Fund, Threadneedle (Lux) Asian Focus Fund, marking the firm’s first series of regionally managed Asian equity funds available to the Hong Kong market.

Following the successful debut of the Asian equity fund series in Singapore last year, Columbia Threadneedle Investments is offering the three funds to the Hong Kong market, with each having distinctive investment objectives.

Raymundo Yu, Asia Pacific Chairman at Columbia Threadneedle Investments said: “The Asian equities team led by Ng Soo Nam was established in October 2013 and comprises five investment professionals who have cumulatively worked in the region for more than 50 years, bringing a wealth of unparalleled Asian equities experience and investment conviction to our global investment team and clients. We are delighted to see our Asia-based investment capabilities realizing robust development and firmly believe in Soo Nam and the team’s ability to deliver strong investment returns and value to our clients in the region and globally.”

Ng Soo Nam, Head of Asian Equities at Columbia Threadneedle Investments commented: “Asia ex Japan continues to be the fastest growing region in the world despite slowing down to a more stable and sustainable pace of growth in recent years. The quality of the investment environment is also improving, with the corporate mindset more focused on business resilience and profitability, boding well for shareholder returns going forward.
